My name is Erik Boman Tursch. I was born on the 29th of August 1996 in Malmö, Sweden. As i child i had a great interest in music and i often listened to music with my dad, and he would always explain to me how music works.
When i was seven or eight my sister introduced me to a program called E-jay, a secuencer “DAW” where you worked with premade loops sorted into different genres. I was instantly hooked on it and i could spend hours on end just composing, i would often use loops that dint have anything to do with the set pack of loops i was using at the current moment, for example i would mix orchestral loops with techno loops.
At the age of nine i had saved enough money to buy myself an electric guitar, a Behringer guitar that was absolute shit. My dad is a big rock fan and he would often try to teach me the classic rock songs, but i preferred playing stuff that i came up with.
I started producing music in a real DAW when i was eleven. I had seen a video on Youtube where Basshunter (who was my biggest idol at the time) showed how me made his songs. The program which he used was called Fruity Loops 6 and i downloaded it straight away. I remember the feeling when i made my first 4/4 kick line and played it, it was pure magic. I still use Fruity Loops to this day, and i can safely say that i know it like the back of my hand.
I have produced almost every genre i have ever heard of, cause i like to hear what that genre would sound like if it was me who was producing it. I started out creating some kind of down tempo mash between Happy Hardcore and Trance, much inspired by Basshunter. I kept on producing that weird hybrid genre for a year or so, until i was somewhere between 12 and 13. During that time i started to experiment wildly with different genres and my songs would often sound something like some kind of German house combined with techno-pop. I finally got hooked on doing what i called “progressive Trance”, partially because i loved using harmonic leads in my songs. But i found the tempo to be too hectic for me to enjoy making it. That’s the time i found out about house, Faxing Berlin by Deadmau5 to be more exact, a song which i dearly love still to this day. I really liked the tempo in that song, and i started experimenting with lowering the tempo in my songs.
To this day i would estimate i have made roughly 100+ complete tracks, and some of them can be found floating around the internet, unfortunately many of them have gone lost due to computer crashes and such. Unlike most EDM producers i’m not after making the most brutal bass line, the most sick drop or anything else of what floats in the mainstream today. For me its all about the feeling, and no matter how cheesy that sounds that’s my aim when creating music.
